What is Social Anxiety or an Anxiety Disorder?
There are several types of Anxiety Disorders that include Social Anxiety Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Separation Anxiety Disorder, Selective Mutism, Agoraphobia, and/or other Specific Phobias.
Anxiety Disorders present with excessive fear, anxiety, or worry that is difficult to control. Fear, anxiety, or worry causes significant impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning. And these disorders can directly affect a child or a young adult’s ability to have or form a relationship with other kids or adults.

Camp Excel, based in Manasquan Monmouth County, NJ, has offered social skills programs for those diagnosed with Anxiety Disorder, for over 20 years. Our management team, the Cable Family, shares a passion for helping children and young adults with these special needs.
